UPMC is our region's largest charity, but it pays its executives millions while many UPMC frontline employees struggle to make ends meet. It spends our healthcare resources on anti-union activities that the Regional Director of the National Labor Relations Board believes violate the law, while many departments lack adequate staff and support. UPMC closes neighborhood hospitals here while expanding overseas. And it posts hundreds of millions of dollars in profit while failing to pay its fair share to support our schools, buses, and other public services.
We expect a lot more from our largest charity. Sign on to this UPMC Code of Conduct for a Strong, Healthy Pittsburgh so our elected officials know you support them holding UPMC accountable to its charitable mission.
